This Week in the Blogosphere

Sorry folks! My preparations for moving are sucking up more of my time than I would have thought! I don’t even have the photos from Anime North off the camera yet! Moving day is set for July 16th, and we’re busy packing and so excited!
There’s lots of things going on in the Decluttering Blogosphere this week, and some that happens to do with moving in one way or another (how convenient!):
Jeri reminds us that not all books are keepers, something I need to remember when packing up my own personal library to move.
IKEA Hacker (always a favourite of mine) shows us how to make a compact banquette from kitchen cabinets. Looks great, and has storage space to boot! We’re a little short on furniture for the new place, so perhaps we can make use of some of the great projects here!
Declutter It! brings up a good point about an organizing step that many folks miss, just in time for it to be helpful for my move!
Unclutterer tells us to watch out for bumper clutter on others that can indicate road rage, and also reminds us about a special episode of Clean House about the “messiest house in the country” is on next week.
Clutter Control Freak is having a contest! All you need to do is type up a funny joke (clean and tasteful!) in the comments of their contest post, and you could win a $100 gift certificate for Stacks & Stacks (and other nifty prizes)!
Does anyone know what happened to Psychology of Clutter? It was a great blog, but now Wordpress says it has been deleted by the author! I hope nothing bad happened to Dr. Ragan!

I e-mailed Dr. Ragan. She said that she took it down because she found a lot of what she wrote in TWO different books about clutter and they did not credit her for the work. She was nice about it and called it a “lesson learned.” She also told me she is in the process of working with Ariane Benefit from Neat and Simple on a new blog that is supposed to launch in the Fall.
